Kieffer, J.A., Decisions in Imaging Economics "Utilization Patterns in a Large HMO Population" This is the first of four articles that showed patterns of imaging for a large HMO population. The HMO released the information for the article on the condition that it remain anonymous, and be provided with the backup databases to assist in it's own fiscal planning. This first piece organized the statistics by gender and age for those cases performed at the HMO's facilities. The databases of article one were combined here to compute commercial and Medicare capitation rates for the HMO's entire population.
